Last Saturday was all about weird lessons and finding people. We got to spend some time with the members and talk about some of the activities that we want to start happening. We ran into a Vietnamese man who asked if we were Taiwanese. We asked if he had heard about Sok Mok Moan (the Book of Mormon) and he said he had. He also said he was interested in meeting with us. It's unfortunate that he doesn't understand too much Chinese (he has only been here for 10 months), but it is fortunate that we have a Vietnamese friend that speaks pretty good Chinese. We still have yet to meet with him because of his work schedule.
This week was really a blur and many things happened. On our P-day, on the way to Costo, we contacted a few people and a lady ended up walking up to us at one point and asked to meet with us. It was really cool. We met with the Zhang family for family night (and it was Elder Bogle's birthday). We taught about temples, their home is so full of the spirit. I love that family.
Tuesday I went on exchanges with the Zone leaders. We taught Liao about the word of Wisdom, he overcame his own concern. Then we went contacting and found a new investigators and a Christian who we got to bear testimony to. He spoke good english though, because he went to college in America and Canada. There was a lot of crazy rain and that is how the week went. Crazy rain or heat and the people noticed. Needless to say I was soaked a couple of days this week.
Wednesday was incredible. We met with the Lin boy again, he was incredible. We then went to the near by park and talked to a family about the Book of Mormon. They live in the same apartment complex as us so we have seen them a few more times recently. Later we met with the lady that walked up to us on the street, she was actually really good. She asked us what commandments we had (her name is Zhang, and the two oldest Zhang family children helped us peike). We gave her a date and set another time to meet with her. Then English class where I got to bear my testimony on the Book of Mormon.
There is never enough time! I love you all and cannot wait to be able to hear more from you. I wish I could tell you more of what is going on. I will try and send more pictures so that you can see and not just have to read.
I know this work is the Lord's and this gospel is true. I know I am a child of God. I know our Heavenly Father has a plan for us. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world. I know the Book of Mormon is true and we have living prophets on the earth today. This is all truth, then really what else matters. I will be losing my life in the Lord's service.
Love,
Shen Yi Qian
