That was p-day.
Tuesday we went to xin zhu again for district meeting and talked about truth and the restored gospel. We missed our bus back to the train station so we walked it and made it back to zhudong about when we had planned. Good old walking, I haven't done enough here, lots of bike riding though! After dinner we had another lesson with Liao, we watched finding faith in Christ with him and planned about asking him about his willingness to be baptized. He talked about not seeing Christ so not being sure if he could be baptized. We assured him that we hadn't seen Christ, but that if he could exercise his faith he would have a testimony of His reality. In the end he grew and understands what the Savior means to him. Another investigator came after that, wen dixiong, he has no faith. We talked about baptism with him and he didn't know what it meant, so we shared some scriptures about its meaning and explained it. He still didn't really get it. We asked him if he still wanted to be baptized, he said that once his life gets in order maybe but right now just slow. Right after that we had a man we contacted Monday night come, Zhu dixiong. He is a pretty active Christian, and he is humble and willing to listen. We gave him a Book of Mormon and told him about the promise, I hope he will do it because he could really change. After we left that lesson we contacted two friends both names Xu, they set up but never came.
Then I had to wake up at 4 to get to xin zhu in time for my companion to get to Taibei for a training meeting. I stayed in xiang shan with zhong zhang lao, while there I got to see some more miracles. We taught two lessons and gave a baptismal date to someone and found a man's daughter who is a memeber. I got to bear testimony to a boy who didn't believe in God and to a woman who seemed fairly religious, we got to find like crazy, then I had to go home and teach English class. I somehow managed to talked about how English has French influence. Also, ranged from Vikings to Normans to pirates. Needless to say next week I will be talking about the Spanish Armada! Or I guess that would be this week, but it will be fun.
Now to Thursday where I say some of the coolest stuff. Liu laoshi has decided to be baptized, he has a date for the last Saturday of the month, and we think he will truly be ready. Once he is fully converted he will be an incredible member missionary. My face melted from beef noodles, right before weekly planning session, then after we had a little bit of awkward time before dinner, we went to a park and contacted then back to the church before a lesson. I saw a student walking by on the street and invited him in, we showed him the chapel and talked about it. We had a calm feeling and so did he. We taught him a short lesson about God and prayer, then we read Moroni 7:33-34 with him and asked him to think about being baptized. He said he knew his family would be against it, but he wanted to keep meeting with us. After that we had a lesson with a Jehovah's Witness at his house. On the way the kid (Lin) called us and said that his parents had said no, but that he would still meet with us. When we went in, it felt like he had an army behind us. We talked about the bible briefly but then quickly moved into our reason and message. We focussed on bearing testimony of the Book of Mormon and inviting them to read and pray to know that it is true. If they will humble themselves to that point they could be very good members.
Friday I stopped at a park because I saw someone sitting there and I wanted to talk to them. I did and we had a good lesson and he set up a time to meet later but didn't show up. Dinner, then our basketball activity. We need to get the ward more involved in missionary work. Then a super lesson with Liao where we finished the Plan of Salvation and he bore a really good testimony of the Savior.
Saturday was crazy but good, but I don't have much time more to email. I hope I remember to catch you up next week. I am seeing miracles daily and learning more and more the power and authority of my calling.
I love you all, I know this work is the Lord's and His gospel is the truth. It is a message that needs to go to the worl and that only happens if you and I do our part.
