Song of the post, "Schism" by Tool. Aaron Hill and I were having a jam session the other day and he played this and I did a little improv with it; he also played some of his own creation. That was fun to play along with, very different.
I just talked my dad into getting a new tv/speaker system for our basement, Comcast cable and internet, and Christian into a new Xbox 360 and ODST. Everything but the cable should be here by next Tuesday. The best part about it being a Tuesday is I get to be the first one to play it and enjoy all the new stuff.
The Resistance is out tomorrow, I'm not sure how excited I am for that right now: some of the other songs sound weirder than I am used to. I am also getting that book of essays and Hamlet; I love amazon.
Anthem was a hot topic today in English. One of the girls in my class really hated it, most everyone else really enjoyed it. I need to read Atlas Shrugged sometime.
Federer is looking just a little bit out of it today. Something is going on and this final is looking really good.

I hated Anthem as well. Whoever else hated it was a smart woman.
i think it was Sidney, they said she talked to you about rand being a Nazi (which is very much false [nationalism is not individualism by any stretch])
not my favorite book, but mostly 'cause i got bored with it and i disliked how there were loose bits that Rand didn't tie up (but she didn't really need to for her purpose in writing the book anyways) but it's good to read once i think.
which Sidney?
yeah, its not perfect, but a nice short read; also a nice intro to her ideals.
idk, the one who sits 3 rows behind me. she is shorter, if that helps
Sharlie - sidney bell
Brian - i didn't mean in terms of political affiliation. what i meant was that it was ironic that she used nazi symbols of power as a way to inspire fear when
a. Objectivism and National Socialism share the same economic beliefs - that is, a completely free market with zero taxation
b. both use Frederich Nietzsche and his Will to Power as a way to show human individual superheroes, those who rise above the rest
it wasn't supposed to be a direct comparison, but something that i just thought was ironic
also, anybody who believes Ayn Rand is actually correct should probably take an economics class
